4-Step Guide to Getting Started with IceVISTA

1. Purchase. Purchase IceVISTA package and any optional features for your company from our online store.  IceWEB Customer Service will contact you within one business day to obtain payment information and confirm your order. You will receive a "Welcome to IceVISTA" email confirming your purchase which includes your initial FTP account, password, and IP address.
2. Upload Web Site using FTP . IceWEB does not develop web sites but we work with several partners that we can recommend. Once you have your web site content ready, you will need to upload your data using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). There are many free or low-cost FTP software clients for Windows, Macintosh, or Linux or you can use a tool such as Macromedia Dreamweaver. Your FTP account login and server information will be provided to you in the "Welcome to IceVISTA" email.
3. Create/Adjust DNS. You will need to configure your Domain Name Service (DNS) to direct traffic to your new web site. Normally, you will edit or create an A Record within DNS to point to the IP address of your web server. The IP address will be assigned by IceWEB and shown in the "Welcome to IceVISTA" email sent in step 1 above. Note that you would normally create or change an A Record called "www" without the quotes so this record may or may not already exist in your DNS configuration and need to be changed. Note that any changes in DNS can take up to 24 hours to update (propagate) across the Internet.
4. Test Web Site. You should test your web site to ensure it is working correctly and displaying correct within your web browser. You should type the URL of your web site (such as www.mycompany.com) to ensure that the A Record in step 3 above is functioning correctly.
