Getting Started - Installation Instructions

6-Step Guide to Getting Started with IceMAIL

1. Purchase. Purchase mailboxes and any optional features for your company from our online store.  You will receive a "Welcome to IceMAIL" email confirming your purchase which includes your initial admin account and password.
2. Create Mailboxes. Log into the IceWEB Account Control Panel using the admin account and password you selected during the checkout process (this information is also contained in the "Welcome to IceMAIL" email). You will need to configure mailboxes for each of your users and set storage limits for each. You can optionally add any additional email aliases, create distribution lists, external contacts, and public folders. Refer to the Control Panel instructions for more information on using the IceWEB Control Pane.

Install Email Software. If you do not already have Outlook 2003 or 2007 installed, Download Microsoft Outlook 2007 and following the configuring Outlook 2007 instructions. Macintosh users may download Microsoft Entourage and view the configuring Entourage instructions. You will need a valid IceMAIL email address and password created in step 2 above in order to download the software.
4. Domain. Configure your existing Internet domain DNS MX record to smtp.icemail.com.  This is not required if you purchased a new domain directly from IceWEB (we automatically configure the MX record). Contact IceWEB Customer Service for assistance if necessary.
5. Import Data. Optionally import any legacy data you may have into your IceMAIL account using Microsoft Outlook.  Refer to instructions for importing data into Outlook from the How-To Guides section.
6. PDA Synchronize. If you have a SmartPhone or PDA capable of ActiveSync, follow these instructions for configuring ActiveSync on Windows Mobile Smartphone. Apple iPhone users can follow these instructions for configuring Apple iPhone for IceMAIL. If you purchased the optional GoodLink or BlackBerry synchronization service, you can enable this from your IceWEB Account Control Panel when creating your mailboxes after step 2 above. You can refer to these instructions for adding GoodLink or BlackBerry wireless services to a mailbox/user or call IceWEB Customer Service for assistance activating your GoodLink or BlackBerry service.
