Storage Engineer

As a Storage Engineer at IceWEB Storage Corporation you will be responsible for delivering robust, efficient and stable solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• The Engineer is a resource who has demonstrable experience navigating large enterprise environments, marrying complex business requirements to progressive design solutions, and overseeing the transition to production. The engineer must be capable of presenting his solutions to the client audience, develop detailed documentation, and perform service delivery skills in support of large scale storage projects. The Engineer is a mentor and subject matter expert in the use of prevailing storage technologies and must be able to oversee the execution of storage deployments from inception to delivery.
• Applicants should be highly-motivated, technology driven, possess strong communications skills, can develop strong cross-group collaboration and is willing to take on the challenge of dealing with ambiguity
• Candidate should also have a broad understanding of machine virtualization
• Design and implement complex storage configurations and standards for multiple platforms at an expert level in diverse, demanding customer environments 
• Assess, recommend, plan, and implement complex consolidation projects using storage technologies 
• Develop repeatable standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality 
• Directly interact with clients, account managers, and peer solution architects to develop customized storage solutions 
• Serve as a technical escalation point in support of high risk, complex operational challenges 
• Apply best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to large scale projects  

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in engineering and/or operating experience in IT storage and virtualization technologies along with past practical experience with the following: Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), scripting, replication and back up methods.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Strong Windows and Linux (Enterprise Linux, RedHat, Solaris) experience 
• Must have hands-on experience engineering and managing storage services in the areas of: Distributed Storage Services and/or Enterprise Backup
• Prior experience with EMC technologies (DMX, Clariion, Celerra, Centerra), IBM (TSM) and Dell EqualLogic, any leading VTLs
• Strong applied experience & knowledge of the following storage related technologies:
  EMC DMX4 and VMAX series 
  • Cisco MDS Director Class Switches
  • Block-level storage & replication 
  • Replication technologies (ie ShadowImage/TrueCopy/ SRDF) 
  • Tiered Storage
  • iSCSI
  • Fiber Channel
  • NFS
  • SAN
  • NAS
• Strong working knowledge of the following types of hardware/software technologies and troubleshooting for each: 
  • DNS/NTP/Syslog 
  • VERITAS Netbackup 
  • Cisco/Juniper/F5/Foundry 
  • Sun QFS 
  • Dynamic Reconfiguration 
  • RAID Levels
