Director of Engineering

As the Director of Engineer at IceWEB Storage Corporation you will partner with key executives to help define and engineer a comprehensive data strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for recruiting and resource management.
• Work directly with the CEO, CTO and other department heads on strategic planning for the company
• Work with the product team to prioritize and set goals for what should be built
• Manage the team and development process to ensure that engineering is able to ship what was agreed upon time and according to the expectations set.
• Decide on tools; define and build consensus around the process of development to make sure we constantly improve
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the engineering team; you should be passionate about helping each engineer reach his/her potential
• Be responsible for being engineering’s ambassador to other areas of the company to ensure everyone is in sync with what engineering can deliver.
• Implement a test driven development environment and more efficient QA processes
• Manage our relations with technical partners, ensuring that provisioning/contracts etc. are in place for when engineers need to move forward with a feature

Experience:

• 6-8 years experience managing top-notch software developers in agile and/or test-driven development environments

Skills/Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science with 7+ years in coding experience (preferred cloud computing, c++, java, php, MYSQL/NOSQL)
• Proven track record of meeting aggressive schedules, clearly defining deliverables and timetables, with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in complex environments and manage teams to successful project completion
• Possess start-up mentality and work ethic
• Strong analytic, communication and interpersonal skills
